POSITION SUMMARY: 

Under supervision of the Wellness Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of day-to-day wellness initiatives for the Office of Well-Being (OWB) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS). Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to; planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating simultaneous wellness program at UMMS. This candidate will be responsible for researching relevant health promotion and corporate wellness topics to stay current on national wellness initiatives. The coordinator will also work closely with the Program Manager to perform program evaluations on an ongoing basis which includes annual surveying methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for developing, planning, marketing, and executing company-wide wellness initiatives and programs.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with internal/external partners, including managing vendor partner relationships to ensure program offerings are being delivered as agreed.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with internal departments and external clients to collaborate on wellness events and initiatives.
  • Develops marketing plans that actively and creatively promote well-being and health education programs.
  • Manage wellness program data and metrics. Will be responsible for tracking and reporting data on program effectiveness.
  • Recommends and implements programs to support employees in achieving their physical, emotional, financial and social well-being.
  • Takes a creative approach in promoting and communicating well-being programs in meeting employees where they are in their wellness journey.
  • Develops and plans for the continued growth, development and engagement of employees.
  • Actively seeks and participates in continuous improvement activities, staying abreast of new offerings, recent laws and regulatory changes that impact program delivery.
  • Provides administrative support for the Wellness Champion Advisory Committee. Includes scheduling monthly meetings, taking meeting minutes and sending out group communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Health Promotion or related field.
  • 1 year of experience preferred in wellness-related field (health education, public health, community health, or related field).
  • Experience with individual behavior change management, health coaching or health risk assessments.
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations of employees accessing OWB services
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Possesses verbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary to engage the UMass community and our EAP clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Ability to multitask on simultaneous projects, paying close attention to detail and maintaining program deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as cross function as a team.
  • Strong follow through on projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification/License in a specific wellness field (such as Certified Group Exercise Instructor, Health Education Specialist, Health Coach, or other Wellness area).
  • Experience in health care or academic medicine preferred.
