Postdoctoral Position in Mechanobiology, Signaling, and Cell Cycle Control

Description

The McCollum lab at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate how the Hippo signaling pathway functions both in mitosis to control cell division, and in interphase to control cell fate decisions in response to mechanical cues. Current projects build on our previous work showing how the actin cytoskeleton and mechanical tension control Hippo pathway signaling. An additional project will pursue our novel findings revealing a key role for the Hippo pathway in chromosome segregation and cytokinesis.  Work in the lab is inherently multi-disciplinary and may include culture of multiple cell lines, protein purification and analysis, molecular cloning, CRISPR mutagenesis, and cell imaging. Requirements

Applicants must have (or expect to obtain shortly) a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related fields. Applicants should have experience in several of the following areas: molecular cloning, protein expression, mutagenesis, cell culture, imaging, immunofluorescence, biochemistry.
