The University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a psychiatrist with a career interest in Public Sector Psychiatry for a position at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH). WRCH, a state-of-art inpatient and rehabilitation facility that opened its new hospital in October, 2012, is a short walk from the Medical School where research and teaching opportunities are easy to accommodate and are actively encouraged. This public psychiatric hospital is unique with a person-centered, recovery-focus as a fundamental operative principle. We have worked to make this a family friendly position with a weekday schedule only. There is no required on-call, no evenings, no weekends, no nights, and no holidays. Of note, physicians can sign up for voluntary night and weekend shifts at lucrative pay. There are excellent state benefits with a pension plan. There are 13 paid holidays, 4 weeks of paid vacation, three paid conference days, 2 paid personal days, and a $3,000 annual practice allowance.
WRCH is a Department of Mental Health Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry is contracted to provide the Professional Services.
