Post Doctoral Fellowship in Substance Use Disorders
The University of Massachusetts Medical School Department’s of Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine are co-sponsoring a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship focused on the assessment and management of substance use disorders (SUD). The SUD fellowship focuses on training in clinical and applied research on evidence-based, personalized interventions and mechanisms of change for various populations suffering from SUD and related disorders. Fellows will participate in ongoing clinical research and grant submissions, will complete pilot projects, have opportunities for publications and presentations using new and existing datasets, and will prepare independent research grants. Fellows will conduct clinical research assessments and deliver behavioral therapies. Fellows may also have the opportunity to work in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Current active research includes NIAAA, NIDA, VA, DOD, BJA, SAMHSA, and state funded projects on empirically supported couple- and individual-based SUD treatment development, testing, and implementation for several populations including alcohol and drug dependent women, alcohol dependent soldiers in post-deployment, veterans, and criminal justice involved individuals with SUDs and psychiatric disorders. Integration of innovative translational interventions and teleheath models of delivery are also being examined. The fellowship is situated at the Department of Psychiatry Center of Excellence on Addictions at University of Massachusetts Medical School. Fellows will work closely with Elizabeth Epstein, PhD, David Smelson, PhD, Edwin Boudreaux, PhD, Douglas Zideonis, MD, Ayorkor Gaba, PhD, and other faculty mentors. The fellow is expected to be license prepared upon completion. Salary ranges from $40,000 to $45,000, and benefits are competitive.
A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or related field and completion of an APA-accredited internship with relevant experience is required.
