Located in Boston, MA, MassBiologics is the only non-profit, FDA-licensed manufacturer of vaccines in the US. In 1997, oversight of MBL was transferred to UMMS. For over 100 years, MBL has worked to improve public health through applied research, development and production of biologic products including vaccines, plasma derivatives, monoclonal antibodies and most recently, vector manufacturing at our new South Coast facility in Fall River, MA. MBL currently manufactures and distributes Tetanus, Diphtheria Toxoids and Adsorbed (Td) vaccines worldwide, is a cGxP manufacturer and is compliant with the FDA’s Quality System Regulations (QSR).
Commonwealth Medicine is the $400M health care consulting division of UMMS. As leaders in the development and implementation of health care reform, CWM stays ahead of health care trends and helps strategize and plan for changes that impact both health care delivery systems and patients. Using CWM’s customized programs and services, many managed care organizations, government agencies and nonprofits have been able to control their health care costs while increasing the value of their health care spend. CWM operates individual programs and centers in 21 states and 27 locations around the globe while also helping at-risk and uninsured populations gain better access to quality health care.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor, Chief Human Resources Officer, is responsible for the strategic design, planning, and effective delivery of the UMMS Total Rewards Program, Labor Strategies, HR Information Systems (HRIS), Immigration Services, the HR Service Center and HR Compliance. Ensures compensation, benefits and HR services/systems align with and support organizational strategies. While creating and maintaining a high performing organization with a culture of customer service, continuous process improvement, collaboration and with a high sense of urgency, ensure that HR Services for students, faculty and staff are best-in-class and compliant with federal and state requirements and collective bargaining agreements. Serves as a key member of the Human Resources Leadership team inspiring, coaching and mentoring HR professionals and other members of the UMMS community. Manage HR administrative matters and the HR Budget.
