POSITION SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Associate Vice Provost for Student Life or designee, the Assistant Director for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is a full-time, master's prepared higher education practitioner within student affairs and/or graduate admissions that will serve as a member of the professional staff of the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs & Admissions. Responsible for assisting in the identification, recruitment, and enrollment of new students, overseeing the graduate and continuing education communication and enrollment marketing plan, cultivating relationships externally, overseeing academic and student services administrative processes, and creating an environment that bolsters student success, persistence and retention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Focused, specialized recruitment for all programs within the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing.
  • Responsible for on and off-campus recruitment activities that attract prospective students, converting prospects into applicants and yielding enrolled students.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for admissions inquiries.
  • Provide timely follow-up with prospects, inquiries, and in-progress applicants offering support as they navigate the application process.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate targeted recruitment and outreach efforts; monitors and tracks effectiveness of recruitment efforts; utilizes data to make informed decisions for future recruitment goals.
  • Maintain records of recruitment initiatives and applicant correspondence per department guidelines.
  • Works with the Office of Institutional Research, Evaluation and Analysis on enrollment, ethnicity and other statistical information for GSN and institutional reporting.
  • Engage in travel to recruit graduate students via webinars, on-campus and off-campus events and conferences.
  • Support the development of enrollment marketing materials and enrollment marketing functions and updating the website.
  • Prepare annual Cost of Attendance and other pertinent admissions enrollment information.
  • Coordinate annual recruitment & retention initiatives.
  • Oversee the academic advising and registration process, including providing support to enrolled and prospective students including coordinating advising sessions with program coordinators for course registration, graduation processing, petitioning, withdrawals, program documentation, computer accounts, and tracking students on and returning from leave of absences.
  • Support student orientation and effectively plan new student pre-matriculation and on-boarding initiatives.
  • Co-Advise the Graduate Student Nursing Organization.
  • Responsible for updating Student Handbook.
  • Serve as department liaison with the offices of the Bursar, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Health and the Office of Institutional Research, Evaluation and Analysis.
  • Update individual program plans each semester and confirm all courses are listed on the student's transcripts
  • Ensure all students are registered properly prior to the billing cycle and make necessary changes on behalf of the students once the online registration is closed.
  • In coordination with the Dean, Associate Vice Provost for Student Life, University Events, and other appropriate campus offices, support Commencement and other student events.
  • Work with various IT departments regarding technology & access for students in Blackboard, PeopleSoft, etc.
  • Prepare GSN academic and administrative calendars annually.
  • May serve as liaison with external organizations when designated by Associate Vice Provost for Student Life.
  • Serve on institutional committees focused on student affairs and enrollment management
  • Perform other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree required, preferred in Educational Administration/Student Services in Business, Health or equivalent experience
  • 0-3 years' experience
  • Proven ability to work with and support a culturally diverse populations of learners
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the capacity to work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Fluency with multiple technologies for offering support to students, such as Slate, PeopleSoft, Maxient, DocuSign, SharePoint, Blackboard, Canvas, and Office 365.
  • This position requires some evening and weekend hours in support of unit operations and ceremonial events

Please note that the range provided reflects the full base salary range for this position. Offers are typically made within the midrange to allow for future growth and development within the role.
