A postdoctoral position is available in the Socolovsky laboratory at the Molecular, Cell and Cancer Biology Department, UMASS Chan Medical School. The lab investigates erythropoiesis, the process of red blood cell differentiation from blood stem cells. We are specifically interested in how red cell progenitors activate a new gene expression program during differentiation. Available projects include analysis of chromatin and epigenetic change, changes in the cell cycle and DNA damage response pathways during differentiation, and analysis of novel growth factor receptors that regulate erythropoiesis. Outcomes may provide new therapeutic targets for anemia, globally a leading cause of disability. For more details on the Socolovsky lab please visit https://www.umassmed.edu/socolovsky-lab/
