Postdoctoral Associate opportunity on the Cancer Metabolism and Metabolic Toxicity project
A postdoctoral position is available in the newly formed laboratory of Dr. Dohoon Kim in the department of Molecular, Cell and Cancer Biology at University of Massachusetts Medical School. The individual will work independently in collaboration with the Principle Investigator in the field of cancer metabolism. Potential topics include:
(1) Exploring the roles of metabolic pathways which involve the formation of toxic metabolic intermediates, in the context of cancers and other pathologies;
(2) Characterizing the metabolic features of the ischemic tumor microenvironment in xenograft tumors and ex vivo models and its relevance to cancer cell survival and cancer progression; and
(3) Investigating the role of glycine c-acetyltransferase and glycine metabolism in cancer cells and in physiology.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to pursue a career in academic research. Scientists of varying fields of expertise are invited to apply, but expertise in biochemistry, cellular metabolism, molecular biology, or cancer biology may be highly beneficial.
