Join our PeopleSoft Campus Solutions group and become part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team that produces quality technical solutions for a diverse set of clients including academic departments, faculty, students & alumni.  As part of the Academic Computing Services team within the IT Department you will be part of an integrated team that works using a Scrum framework actively delivering value and making a notable difference for UMMS in providing a superior educational experience for our students. Responsible for developing innovative solutions, we are seeking a candidate with strong PeopleSoft technical skills.

 

The essential tools and competencies required include:

  • Designer Tools – Application Designer, PeopleCode
  • Data Management Tools – Application Engine, Data Mover
  • Reporting Tools – SQR, XML Publisher, PS Query
  • Integration Tools – Component Interface, Integration Broker
  • Change Assistant – Applying bundles, patches & fixes
  • Complete Understanding of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture

 

Responsibilities:

In addition to acting as a key technical resource supporting the student system, you will also:

  • Manage the design and modeling of front-end application and the RDMS back-end schema, including the assurance of appropriate technology controls, (i.e. normalization, referential integrity, etc.)
  • Work directly with the user and/or vendors to articulate and document user application needs
  • Manage the development of functional specifications
  • Lead in the development of functional specifications, which articulate clearly and completely all project deliverables consistent with user expectations and vendor/third party needs
  • Supervise the design, development, implementation, integration, production support, and continuous enhancement of applications to ensure reliable, integrated and stable information repositories
  • Conduct end user training and support of developed applications
  • Manage the development and maintenance of proper technical and user documentation for each system in a consistent and structured manner
  • Ensure quality control through testing and debugging software for accuracy, completeness, and system integrity
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and proactively act upon work assignments
  • Interact effectively (verbally, written, etc.) with users, vendors and management to ensure delivery and use of application is consistent with agreed upon project goals
  • Assist in performing technical services necessary to support the continuous delivery of service including: application use auditing, project tracking, database administration, data dictionary generation, development of software development utilities (program) and application development procedures
  • Supervise and direct staff as assigned. Participate in recruiting and staff performance reviews as assigned
  • Continue development of skills and expertise in present and emerging technologies by participating in formal training when possible and by independent self-teaching and tutorials
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience and 6 years of demonstrated progressive experience in using PeopleSoft Applications as well as 6 years of experience in business and/or clinical I.T. environment are a must.  Additionally, supervisory experience and 6 years of demonstrated progressive work experience in project management and project planning are essential.

 

The successful candidate must have solid interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships.

 

6 years demonstrated progressive experience in technical analysis and design using Campus Solutions and understanding of the PeopleSoft buffer and the PeopleSoft n-tier architecture are beneficial.
