The Applied Pharmacoeconomics/Pharmacoepidemiology Fellow applies pharmacoeconomic and pharmacoepidemiology concepts and appropriate analytical methods in conducting retrospective database studies, prospective research studies, and economic modeling to support value-based approaches to pharmaceutical contracting.

  • Conducts analyses using multiple Medicaid administrative data sources including medical and pharmacy claims and encounters, prior authorization data, and other data sources that will inform manufacturer negotiations and outcomes-based arrangements for pharmaceuticals
  • Supports faculty and Clinical Pharmacy Services staff with research studies and projects throughout design, analysis, and/or dissemination phases. This work may utilize data sources including Medicaid, Medicare or Marketscan data.
  • Develops a functional knowledge of statistical software including SAS, SQL, STATA, R
  • Interpret quantitative data and use data visualizations to communicate effectively
  • Drafts, reviews, and submits abstracts, posters, and peer-reviewed publications, primarily in the areas of health/pharmacy policy and economics, as well as in the fellows areas of interest
  • Conceptualizes and supports development of new grants and/or proposals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  PharmD or PhD
  • Ideal candidate has background in pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, health services research, and/or health informatics and pharmacy (preferably, managed care pharmacy)
  • Exploratory, vision-oriented mindset
