ServiceNow Web Development Intern
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The UMass Chan Medical School Information Technology group has an opportunity for a ServiceNow Web Development Intern to join the team in delivering innovative IT services.
As a ServiceNow Web Development Intern, you will gain experience in:
- Automated test framework (ATF)
- Knowledge of all phases of ServiceNow application development, design, architecture, implementation, and administration.
After completing the internship program, you will have a working knowledge in:
- Producing solutions that improve efficiencies while reducing redundant & repeatable processes
- Participating with a scrum development team, attending daily standups, and contributing to sprints

- Implement ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) to create and run automated tests to confirm that your instance works after making a change.
- Review failed test results to identify the changes that caused the failure and the changes that you should review for all ServiceNow instances.
- Provide support for ServiceNow team assist in identifying gaps in processes, looking for ways to automate workflows into ServiceNow to improve the University’s ServiceNow instance.
- Develop workflow and document standards to support the ServiceNow team
- Consult with stakeholders and document requirements to understand the business needs and to implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain proper technical and user documentation for each system in a consistent and structured manner.
- Work both independently and directly with the user to articulate business requirements and document user application needs.
- Assist with designing, developing, and implementing, software solutions for UMMS IT customers.
- Identify and learn emerging technologies by participating in training when possible independent self-teaching and tutorials.
- Create efficiencies for ServiceNow team and business stakeholders
- Perform other duties as required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize innovative ideas and approaches to assist in the development of working models to serve the needs of our faculty, students and researchers
- Complete a project from start to finish and write-up and present the work product to the UMass community
- Participate in team projects
- Conduct online research
- Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a currently enrolled student in a higher education institution or recent graduate
- Solid analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources
- Must be reliable and able to set consistent work hours
- Proven interest in IT and passion in furthering the mission of UMMS
- Must have above average academic performance
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Information Systems, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of object-oriented/scripting languages and full stack development: UI, middle-tier, and backend.
- Knowledge of web services technology and how they are consumed
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational database management systems, SQL coding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills required
- Experience using modern development processes/tools and developing through the complete Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with object-oriented/scripting languages and full stack development: UI, middle-tier, and backend.
- Strong object-oriented analysis, design, and programming skills
- Experience with relational and non-relational database management systems, SQL coding and Object Relational Mapping tools such as Entity Framework.
- Knowledge of ITIL process
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This is paid, 100% offsite internship position
- Duration: 6 months with possibility for extension up to 12 months
- Hours: 30-40
