POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director of GCA or designee, the GCA Finance & Compliance Analyst gathers and maintains financial and space usage information required for the development of the Medical School’s indirect cost proposals.  The GCA Finance & Compliance Analyst provides direction, oversight and assistance to University staff in annual space survey and effort reporting and certification and also assists in financial and administrative functions with respect to the prepaid card program and subaward monitoring while adhering to institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collect and analyze effort reporting and space data elements for use in the F&A proposal and other campus reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver training programs related to the effort reporting and space survey systems
  • Assess, update, and test system enhancements for space survey and time and effort reporting
  • Gather, review, and report financial information for surveys, reports, and ad hoc requests
  • Monitor grant compliance with Federal, State and University policy and report any non-compliance issues to management
  • Approve request forms for prepaid cards, track card inventory, prepare controls and reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and monitor and train University staff on how to use the prepaid card program system
  • Participate in quarterly audits of Subawards, developing report of issues, and requesting audit data information and documents from selected Subawardees
  • Assist with data gathering and development of reports for special project requests
  • Keep current on new and changing grant management compliance policies and regulations, including Uniform Guidance and NIH Grants Policy Statement
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4-5 years related business experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills needed to present and communicate effectively with a diverse population of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial documents such as system reports at account and summary levels
  • Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills with ability to organize and prioritize workload, identify problem areas, and take action to meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance
  • Understanding of Indirect Cost calculations
  • Knowledge of MAXIMUS CRIS system
  • Knowledge of NIH Grants Policy Statement
