The Horae Gene Therapy Center and the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the University of Massachusetts Medical School are seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position to explore tRNA biology. The candidate will work on a project focused on the deep understanding of the cellular process involved in the roles of tRNA fragments in translational control. We are looking for applicants with Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, or related disciplines with primary authorship on relevant publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The applicants should have strong hands-on experience working with and analyzing cellular and in vitro models as well as establishing novel methods. She/he is expected to have excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills (written and oral), and the ability to generate high-quality data in a time-sensitive environment. The Postdoctoral Scholar will join a multidisciplinary collaborative team and participate in extramural collaborations.
