GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The cGxP Computer Tech I Intern is responsible for providing IS software and hardware support to end-users, either resolving or escalating issues as appropriate.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides initial contact and Tier 1 support to end-users of the Helpdesk.  Exercises independent judgment within scope of authority. When necessary, escalates issues to supervisor to determine appropriate authority level to ensure prompt and appropriate resolution within the context of organizational priorities.

• Answers the Helpdesk Telephone, takes messages, and routes calls to the appropriate staff member.
• Assists in the maintenance, ordering, distributing, inventory, and installation of communication devices (including headsets, telephones), peripherals (including scanners, fax machines, photocopiers, personal and networked printers) and computing devices (including desktops, laptops, notebooks, tablets and computers).
• Promotes and ensures compliance with professional and industry standards, FDA regulations, and cGxPs for technology development, MBL-IS policies and procedures, and quality standards for business and production.
• Documents help desk ticket resolutions.
• Assists in the continuous enhancement of Helpdesk operations.
• Provides IS support for new hardware and software rollouts as necessary.
• Assists in setting up training and conference rooms.

• Applies IS knowledge to troubleshooting within scope of training. Maintains current working knowledge of IS.

• Assists with all aspects of building security including but not limited to badges and building access.
• Performs other job related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires a high school diploma with a minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience.  Technical training or certifications in computer / desktop support preferred
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions precisely
• Ability to adapt to a cGxP regulated environment
• Demonstrated ability to recognize deviations from standard procedures
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel and other relevant electronic systems
• Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Possesses attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate written records
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• May travel between South Coast and Mattapan Campuses. Ability to lift 50 lbs. using proper lifting technique. Position may require flexible scheduling to meet the business needs
