The Horae Gene Therapy Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position to explore the AAV biology and AAV vector development. The candidate will work in a project focusing on a deep understanding of the cellular processes involved in successful gene therapies. We are looking for applicants with a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell biology, Virology, or related disciplines with primary authorship on relevant publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The applicants should have strong hands-on experience working with and analyzing cellular and in vivo models as well as establishing novel methods. S/he is expected to have excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills (written and oral), and the ability to generate high-quality data in a time-sensitive environment . The Postdoctoral Scholar will join a multidisciplinary collaborative team and participate in extramural collaborations with the ultimate goal to develop AAV gene therapies for life threatening diseases.
