The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions. UMass Medical School has world class scientists who are conducting groundbreaking research. Candidates who are qualified will have the opportunity to be a part of a team working towards innovative neurosurgery solutions.
Our research topics include studies of the genetics, genomics, cellular physiology and molecular biology of human brain tumors and adult hydrocephalus. Studies will be focused on the genetics of glioblastomas, meningiomas or Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (iNPH).
Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D., M.D. or Ph.D./M.D. degree. Applicants of diverse research backgrounds such as neuroscience, genomics, gene therapy, mouse genetics, and molecular and cell biology are encouraged to apply. Applicants highly skilled in molecular cloning, mouse work, confocal microscopy, DNA/RNA analysis, are preferred. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently, coordinate multiple projects and activities concurrently. Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should be inquisitive, hard-working and motivated to respond to the changes within the rapidly evolving research field. Experience with animal models is preferred, but not required.
