GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The UMass Medical School Office of Communications seeks a summer intern who is interested in learning from an experienced team of communications, content creation and marketing professionals and contributing to the office’s work. The ideal candidate will have writing, interviewing and social media experience, and will have the opportunity to produce content for the UMMS news website, UMassMedNow, as well as the institution’s social media channels. Content typically focuses on the achievements of the medical school faculty, health and science topics, and graduate students in the medical, biomedical research and nursing fields. Additional work opportunities include gaining insight into admissions marketing and taking photos.
The Office of Communications is a busy, collegial and collaborative professional
environment, with a mission to promote the work and accomplishments of UMass Medical School faculty, students and staff.
Work will be supervised by professional writers, editors and marketing professionals.
This is a 10-week internship and the pay is $15/hour. The position is expected to be full-time over those 10 weeks.
