The Keeler lab is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to develop therapeutics for sickle cell anemia by editing stem cells using novel platforms. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Robert Kotin and is funded through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Keeler and Kotin labs are part of the Horae Gene Therapy Center (GTC) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) which consists of investigators from several departments engaged in dynamic and collaborative research environment. The GTC provides an exceptional environment for nurturing cross-disciplinary studies.
Candidates should have a Ph. D in biology, immunology, biochemistry or related biomedical science. Applicants must be self-motivated, creative, and able to work in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. In addition, candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills. Prior experience with genome editing, cell or stem cell cultures, and immunology is advantageous, but not required.
