SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The HRIS senior analyst is a senior-level position within the HRIS department that partners with HR directors and their customers to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on technological capabilities. The HRIS senior analyst builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning. This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional area and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS senior analyst also supports HRMS upgrades, patches, adapting existing applications/databases to new technology testing and other technical projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify, recommend and implement process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, best practices and/or alternative methodologies
- Takes the lead role in projects and process improvement to facilitate movement to a new level of quality
- Project leader for all HR System upgrades including Summit and ADP which includes business process design, testing and implementation
- Leads in the development of functional specifications which articulate clearly and completely at a global and detail level all project deliverables consistent with user expectations and vendor/third party needs
- Depending on the application, either supports the appropriate IS group or works independently in the design, development, implementation, integration, product support, and continuous enhancement of departmental applications and processes to insure reliable, integrated, and secure information. Proactively coordinate with the IS department
- Responsible for departmental implementation preparation, including workflow analysis and business process re-engineering
- Provide end-user training and support of developed applications. Assist in developing and maintaining proper technical end user documentation for each system in a consistent and structured manner to IS standards when applicable
- Develops and generates reports for HR business departments to meet their needs which will be able to run by themselves on an ongoing basis
- Provides daily operational support, as needed, for ADP, EPAF and PeopleSoft modules
- Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application upgrade. Maintains HRMS system tables. Documents processes and results.
- Backup resource for table maintenance and security within all HR Systems including ADP and PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft History Corrections, data custodian for Worcester campus such as assigning security, and working with UITS and Local IT teams on system updates that are HR related
- HEAT ticket administrator for HR system issues
- Ensure quality control through testing and debugging software for accuracy, completeness and system integrity
- Provides liaison support between functional end users, ADP and local IS.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Advanced experience in PeopleSoft, ADP and query writing
- 7 years of demonstrated progressive experience in developing, enhancing, and supporting departmental applications in a multi-vendor diverse-platform environment
- Application development, Enterprise Resource Planning development tools, data analysis, and database design experience
- Demonstrated progressive experience in presentation to diverse audiences; effective verbal and written communication competence
- Knowledge of and ability to recommend alternatives that avoid jeopardizing system operation operations and contribute to the design, testing, and maintenance of the business recovery plans
- Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships
- Ability to act as a liaison to the IS department
- Ability to coordinate, communicate, and participate in planning meetings with the IAS designees in the undertaking of the department IS projects, implementations, and networking
