POSITION SUMMARY:


The organizational development consultant supports the success of the UMMS Human Resources People Strategy by providing expert OD consultation to leaders and departments, OD training design and delivery to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of managers and staff at every level of the organization, and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting human capital data. Assess, diagnose, strategize, define, and resolve complex organizational development and effectiveness issues. Partner with leaders and other key stakeholders to support organization-wide initiatives, including transitions in organizational structure and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Consultation                                    

  • Operate as an internal consultant by employing basic or strong organizational development consulting skills.
  • Establish effective working relationships and collaborations with executives, managers, departments, and other key stakeholders.
  • Propose and implement solutions related to leadership and employee development, team building, culture change, conflict resolution, change readiness, communication and alignment of roles, objectives and tactics.

Support Organizational Development Training                                 

  • Develop and deliver OD training classes as an organizational development subject matter expert, assisting with the development of a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of OD training program
  • Contribute to the preparation of professional OD presentations and training materials including facilitation guides, training aids, assessments, training activities and role play scenarios using MS Word, PowerPoint, and other desktop publishing software.
  • Support the integration of live in class learning opportunities with online content in collaboration with the HR Professional Development Group via LMS and webcasts.
  • Measure learning outcomes related to manager efficacy and organizational success.

Human Resources Metrics                                          

  • Identify key performance indicators, targets, and dashboards elated to human capital (e.g., retention, training efficacy, diversity in hiring, etc.)
  • Produce reports, analyses, and presentations related to human capital metrics.

  • Provide project management support to assist with organizational change or performance improvement for specific departments.

Serve as a client coach in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Level Degree
  • Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, applied behavioral sciences, Psychology, Health Care Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Experience 5 - 10 years
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in organizational development required. Minimum 3 years of consulting/instructional experience, including demonstrated curriculum development, facilitation, assessment, consultation skills. High level data compilation and analysis skills is a must.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education Master's Level Degree 
      Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, applied behavioral sciences, Psychology, Health Care Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline
    • Experience 10 - 20 years
    • 3-5 years of professional work experience in organizational development required. Minimum 3 years of consulting/instructional experience, including demonstrated curriculum development, facilitation, assessment, consultation skills. High level data compilation and analysis skills is a must.
