GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Manager of Financial Systems or designee, the Financial Systems Analyst performs a variety of duties related to maintaining and administering the Medical School’s financial applications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform systems configuration and maintenance
  • Functional  review and administration of system security
  • Assist in development of system and business process documentation
  • Assist in creating user training materials
  • Basic query and report development
  • Assist both central and de-central users to demonstrate system functionality and features. Provide support to users in meeting business requirements across all financial applications in the most efficient manner possible. Assist in translating user requirements into system specifications and business processes
  • Under the direction of other Financial Systems staff, work with a variety of campus personnel to determine, evaluate and prioritize financial system needs
  • Assist in documenting campus level standards and procedures to ensure integrity of financial systems and data. Monitor systems for adherence to such standards and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent 
  • 3 years or experience, preferably in a system support role providing end-user support and system maintenance, and in finance and accounting operations
  • Functional knowledge of financial systems operations and business procedures
  • PeopleSoft or other relational database software experience, a plus
  • nVision, Crystal, or other reporting tool experience a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to work independently
