Working under the direction of the Entity Chief Quality Officer, and in collaboration with ForHealth Consulting operational leaders and enabling partners, the Senior Quality Director will foster a quality culture within the organization by leading organizational quality and healthcare operations projects with a critical focus on internal quality and process improvement, and external client engagements.


The Senior Quality Director will lead business units in evaluating quality processes and identifying opportunities for improvement, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and participate in healthcare operations consulting services, including healthcare quality, regulatory and accreditation consulting.

Internal Quality Processes & Performance Improvement
• Lead entity-wide quality initiatives, focusing efforts on quality/process improvement processes which improve business outcomes and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of products and services for both internal and external clients.
• Partner with operational leaders to develop and implement operational strategies and tactics to improve the outcomes desired.
• Lead quality transformation initiatives across the organization by leveraging change management and process improvement best practices.
• Oversee and monitor identified initiatives, programs, and achievements, in the areas of operational effectiveness and other related quality areas.
• Lead internal root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and drive sustainable corrective actions to mitigate organizational risk.
• Serve as an internal quality expert in the areas of regulatory, process improvement, high reliability, and performance monitoring.
• Lead development of identified business unit-specific quality programs to include data collection, aggregating and analyzing data, policies, and procedures development (as needed) and establishment of key performance indicators/quality metrics, to facilitate ongoing quality monitoring at the local level.
• Manage quality plan development and the implementation of quality and process improvement efforts designed to improve performance.
• Partner with digital solutions leadership to identify and understand emerging technologies that enhance quality operations or workflow efficiencies.
• Use quality-related tools and strategies such as root cause analysis, process mapping to generate learning for use in systemic quality improvement.
• Provide coverage in the absence of the ECQO on critical projects and operational initiatives.


External Client Engagement Subject Matter Expertise
• Serve as a healthcare operations consultant and provide identified products and services to external ForHealth clients.
• Provide subject matter expertise for quality, safety, regulatory and accreditation readiness.
• Identify opportunities to cross or upsell with existing client organizations.

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, public health, health services, or a related field
  • 7+ years experience in healthcare quality assurance and quality improvement.
  • Experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) conditions of participation for acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, and other related healthcare settings as well as CMS survey processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of external clinical quality reporting requirements.
  • Current knowledge of Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Experience coordinating, preparing, and participating in state, Joint Commission, and CMS surveys within past five years.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Lean/six sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed or registered healthcare clinician in nursing, allied health, medicine, or related clinical fields
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

Please note that the range provided reflects the full base salary range for this position. Offers are typically made within the midrange to allow for future growth and development within the role.
