GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:  

Under the direct supervision of the Manager or designee, the Parking Attendant is responsible for the collection of fees, the direction of parking patrons, and other related duties.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive parking fee tickets from customers, compute fees, inform customers of price, receive payment, record transaction fees on a computer or cash register, and permit customer to enter or exit parking areas
  • Reconcile cash from cash drawer with automatic car counter and paid tickets
  • Prepare cash drawer for use in parking collection booth
  • Record appropriate data for record keeping; i.e. vehicle count numbers, transactions using coupons, and cash totals for the shift etc.
  • Deposit cash receipts, as needed or required, in the Central Cash Department
  • Maintain clean working area
  • Provide direction for visitors to Medical Center offices and locations
  • Within parking areas, provide direction on areas to park
  • Perform general maintenance functions within the parking areas
  • Provide escort or courier service via State vehicles, as needed
  • May collect money from parking meters
  • Perform related duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience
  • 6 months of experience and demonstrable ability operating a cash register, calculator, and related accounting machinery
  • Demonstrable ability to make change and do basic mathematics functions
  • Demonstrable ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to travel to off-site location
  • Must be cleared by Public Safety for security.

*Bi-lingual proficiency preferred
