The Senior PeopleSoft Functional Analyst is responsible for managing the analysis, design, and implementation of various academic applications. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible to interpret the requirements of various academic and business offices and translate these requirements into user stories or functional technical specifications for the creation, modification, or enhancement of critical applications. The Functional Analyst will be a key contributor in the implementation of projects as well as ongoing product support. 

  • Responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and designing effective solutions within the PeopleSoft Student administration modules.
  • Work closely with staff from several academic offices to align technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Demonstrate an informed knowledge of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions including Student Records, Campus Community, Admissions, Student Financials, and interface business areas to build solutions and resolve problems on an ongoing basis.
  • Working closely with academic offices to understand their needs, translating those needs into technical and functional requirements, configuring changes as needed, and contributing to quality assurance and training initiatives.
  • Develop system test plans and perform testing and approval of specific projects or change management requests in the student system such as version upgrades, application of maintenance packs/bundles, Oracle database upgrades, People Tools upgrades and the implementation of specific stand-alone applications.
  • Review implemented solutions; ensuring changes have been made correctly and respond to the needs of the organization.
  • Communicate changes to the end users or to specified training resources. As required, provide additional documentation and be a resource for end users as they operationalize any recent changes to the student applications.
  • Identifies opportunities for innovative technology solutions to improve business processes.
  • Develop business plans to evaluate cost/benefit and feasibility studies with recommendation of best alternatives.
  • Responsible for the assurance of quality control and risk management procedures during the life cycle application development process
  • Ensure development of policies and procedures for new and existing systems, including application and end user documentation and training
  • Set standards for system enhancements, definition of user requirements, software acceptance criteria and end user technical support.
  • Evaluate requests for system enhancements, upgrades and interfaces with vendors and provide support including environment management, release testing and deployment.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the program development cycle from project definition through system implementation.
  • Participate in software development process as necessary
  • Ensure accuracy of application systems documentation
  • Train and mentor other analysts and project team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of related experience, including some project management experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft modules preferably Campus Solutions
  • Proficient with PS Query Manager, SQL queries and PeopleSoft Security
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM)
  • Complete understanding of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture
  • Application and Tool Version – 9.2 and 8.58 +
  • Experience in working in scrum/agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of STAT, Phire or any version control tools
  • Ability to work independently when performing tasks
  • Excellent testing and documentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work among multiple constituencies from diverse backgrounds and complex environments.
  • Innovation, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Product level understanding the needs of users, roadmap, future trends for the domain.
