GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the assigned manager, the Analytics Intern is responsible for project-based tasks to support the Analytics and Systems Support team.  These tasks may be administrative or analytical oriented. Assigned projects will require analytical, organizational and communications skills. Primary communications will be in a team environment and will be focused on collecting the appropriate input for the assigned projects.  Specific job responsibilities will vary but may include information gathering, analysis, writing, editing and/or reporting work.  This is a temporary, non-benefitted role.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative:

  • Perform complex and varied executive/administrative tasks which require a high degree of independent action and the setting of priorities and procedures
  • Create reports and perform in-depth data analysis
  • Implement and manage tasks in accordance with departmental objectives
  • Perform assigned project tasks within specified timeframes
  • Perform other duties as required

Analysis:

  • Support ongoing Analytics projects including data pulls, management and reporting
  • Analyze complex business questions and deliver actionable insights
  • Partner with teams across UMass Medical School to identify and prioritize improvement to the data and analytics activities
  • Perform systems maintenance tasks
  • Perform other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma
  • Undergraduate school candidate
  • Analytical and communication skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources
  • Ability to use standard office tools and software (MS-Office)
  • Must be reliable and able to set consistent work hours
