The Bosco laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center has an open position for a post-doctoral fellow. Our laboratory is highly interdisciplinary and collaborative. We are located in the state-of-the-art Albert Sherman Center for translational science at the University Campus in Worcester, MA. Our research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, with a focus on impaired stress response in models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) (www.boscolab.com). The open project entails in vivo (mouse) work, cutting-edge fluorescence microcopy analyses including 2-photon and confocal microscopy, and deep sequencing.
The candidate should have a PhD in the biological sciences and extensive experience working with mice. Prior experience with mouse neuroanatomy is advantageous. Post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to secure their own funding and will be mentored in grant writing.
