POSTION SUMMARY:

The Director of Contract Manufacturing will manage sales & marketing activities for MBL contract services by identifying and closing new contract service business opportunities at new and existing accounts, generating revenue to meet or exceed MassBiologics requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Actively prospects for new business opportunities at new and existing accounts
  • Promotes MBL service offerings via client visits, attendance at conferences, seminars & industry trade shows
  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve established goals
  • Deliver leads for in/out licensing opportunities to MBL Business Development
  • Assist in preparing proposals to leverage all MBL service capabilities to prospective licensing partners
  • Author, and/or review proposals
  • Create, review, deliver, negotiate and approve agreements (Master & Project specific) for contract services as directed by Sr. Dir.
  • Serve as liaison between contract service sales and other MBL departments to ensure effective transition of newly awarded projects and customer satisfaction
  • Provide monthly sales forecast to management
  • Collect and provide market intelligence on key competitors
  • Host and organize client visits
  • Add to and maintain client database
  • Assist in identifying/creating new market opportunities for company
  • Develop specific action plans for closing identified opportunities in conjunction with MBL team members
  • Performs additional job related duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years sales experience calling on biotech/pharma clients, contract service sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in biologics / monoclonal antibody / viral vector development, manufacture and commercialization, aseptic fill/finish and quality control testing methodology and procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and team player attributes are essential
  • Travel as required for client meetings and/or conference/trade show attendance.
  • Excellent critical thinking, time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and sales revenue goals
  • Ability to engage, influence and sustain effective relationships at the management and executive level
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and excellent proofreading skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels internally and with outside organizations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to and quickly learn new technological programs and tools as necessary
