The Horae Gene Therapy Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions. Our research focuses on using AAV vectors for gene therapy of neurological and other disorders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have a PhD in the biomedical sciences or an MD with post-graduate scientific training, and three to five years of research experience in the fields of neuroscience, molecular biology, immunology, animal modeling, bioengineering, and gene therapy. Applicants with a strong background and track record in molecular cloning, creation of viral packaging cell lines, viral vector production and downstream processing, high-throughput DNA and RNA Seq, single-cell sequencing, bioinformatics analyses of exome, transcriptome, and small RNA NGS data, viral vectorology, in vivo gene transfer studies, assessing biological/therapeutic outcomes, vector and transgene immunotoxicity of gene replacement, silencing, editing and addition therapies, conventional and confocal microscopic analyses of tissue sections and image processing are highly preferred. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently, coordinate multiple projects and activities concurrently. Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should be highly organized, hard-working and motivated to respond to the changes within the rapidly evolving field of gene therapy.
