A Postdoctoral position is available for a junior Ph.D. fellow with outstanding credentials in basic research of leukemia/hematopoiesis in the Castilla laboratory at The University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Current projects in the Castilla laboratory investigate molecular mechanisms driving transformation in hematologic malignancies, including familial platelet disorders and acute myeloid leukemia. These projects use genetic, genomic and molecular biology approaches to understand different aspects of pre-leukemia expansion and leukemia progression, with focus on the RUNX transcription factors. Studies in the laboratory also include the development of target therapies for AML, using small molecules and nanoparticles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Suitable candidates should be highly motivated and technically accomplished, with a recent Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, genetics, or related areas, and with strong publication record. Experience working with mice is preferred but not exclusive.
