GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Under the direction of the Clinical Director or designee, the Psychologist Ii assists in planning and delivery of psychological services, including coordination of interdisciplinary treatment and behavior support plans.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide coordination and leadership for interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy
  • Assess and evaluate required phases of the risk evaluation process
  • Administer psychological testing
  • Provide clinical supervision to pre-doctoral students in clinical and counseling psychology
  • Participate in staff conferences and meetings with outside agencies regarding referral or discharge
  • Assist with designing and implementing unit management procedures
  • Develop, plan, and implement positive behavior support plans
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program or completion of a clinical (preferably child, with adolescent experience) internship from an APA-approved internship or their equivalent
  • Ability to obtain licensure within one year of employment from the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Psychologists
  • Ability to provide evidence-based and trauma-informed therapy 
  • Ability to provide intensive mid-term psychotherapy within a complex organization comprised of combined public and academic sectors
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other professional staff and to plan, assign, and coordinate the activities of subordinates and students
  • Communication skills, both oral and written, to interact with patients, families and UMass staff
