GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Director, Annual Funds or designee, the Associate Director, Annual Funds coordinates special projects and events in the Advancement Office. Work directly with the Director, Annual Funds in preparing and implementing projects and events. The Associate Director, Annual Funds will utilize writing, computer, marketing, and public relations skills in these various assignments.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cultivates, solicits and stewards donors in the annual leadership giving program, including the Hudson Hoagland Society.
- Coordinate, organize, and implement donor events
- Coordinate Donor Relations Task Force as needed
- Collaborate with the Event Manager on development and donor related events
- Design and develop marketing material for development programs and events
- Participate in donor recognition communications
- Provide leadership in the planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of projects and events
- May assist in Gift Officers in donor identification and cultivation
- May assist in proposal development
- Identify and organize outside and inside support for department projects and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
- 3 years experience in public relations, marketing/advertising, communications, sales or customer support
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Possesses strong oral and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Works well as member of a team
- Superb at planning very detailed tasks and following through
- Self-starter who needs minimal direct oversight and has strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated skills in creating marketing materials for website, corporate newsletters, events or fundraising campaigns
- Excellent PC skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Volunteer fundraising experience highly desirable
- Ability to travel to off-site locations
